Semage's Scoop
About me:

The worst part of social networking sites is the about me section. Does anyone really read these anyway?

Uh, I'm tall. I'm black. I like grapes. 50 Cent is my sworn enemy...

Well, I gave in to the pressure. Here's a real about me:

I'm a 22 year old college student from a small Middle Tennessee town. I'm a junior at TTU. Psych major. Which means I'm about as normal as deep fried salted shoe laces on a sesame seed bun with a side of tortilla chips and Vaseline.

I'm very laid back. It's not that I'm shy. I'm just an observer. I'm also pretty mellow. It's not that I'm optimistic. I just don't give a fuck. Basically, life happens. I figure I can fight it or happen along with it and perhaps even learn something in the process.

To the above, I attribute the fact that I get along with pretty much everyone (minus the "pretty much"). I have no enemies and I have no need for them. I'm a lover. Now, I don't call everyone my friend. That label is reserved for the extra special. But I know that most people consider me a friend. A good one, they say. And someone easy to talk to.

"I don't know why I just told you that. I've never told anyone that," is a statement I often hear from both friends and general acquaintances. Sometimes strangers. I'm not sure why people find it so easy to talk to me. Maybe because I like to listen. But be careful. I'm a very philosophical/theological/otherwise "intellectual" person so if you hit a few key subjects, I can talk until the cows come home, leave, come back again, get replaced by prettier cows, rally for their rights, form a militia, and start a revolution.

Anyway, I like to make friends. So I say we chat it up and see where it leads us.

P.S. There's a HELL of a lot more to me. You'll just have to talk to me and find out what I'm all about. At least, I hope you will.

Semage's useless trivia:

  1. Semage isn't really my name, (but it's what you can call me until I tell you my name.  And it's pronounced something like say-moj not like see-mage).
  2. I'm a geek
  3. ...but I don't speak Klingon or Tengwar
  4. ...but I would love to speak both
  5. Project 86 pwns your mother.
  6. So did I last night.
  7. Clothes are the work of the Devil.
  8. I would be emo...
  9. ...but my mommy and daddy didn't make enough money.
  10. Sexual orientation is a figment of our imagination.
  11. Straight and gay are, therefore, unnatural.
  12. I eat at least one apple every day.
  13. I piss people off in Promisance with STD attacks on a regular basis.
  14. The only reason I wear clothes is so I don't get charged with sexual harassment.
  15. I like Panic! At the Disco.  So sue me.
  16. If I had a band, it would be called Lois and The Fat Man.
  17. You just don't like lollipops because you've never had one.  Suck the sweetness out of a few, then come and tell me it's gross.
  18. Consequently, I'd rather put my dick in a pig's ass than a man's.  A pig's shitty ass than a man's clean one.
  19. But seriously, I like dick.
  20. No really.
  21. A lot.
  22. ...
  23. "Learn to think before you speak and you just might make a point."
  24. Girls make ten times better friends than guys (it's not natural; it's learned.  But it's still true).
  25. Man does not live by bread alone, but by extremeapril.com.
  26. ... + Firefox (browser)+ Flashgot (plugin) + Free Download Manager (take a guess).
  27. Southern white trash freaks and geeks make my wee wee magically grow.
  28. I have no regard for your law.  I'm governed by reason.
  29. I remember cassette tapes.  Those were the days.
  30. I remember compact disks, those were the days.
  31. I'd rather sleep than finish this list

Who I'd like to meet:
I am here for three reasons:
A. To make friends.
B. To connect and/or network with friends that I already have
C. To expand my sexuality.

If you can serve one or more of those three, I want to meet you.

IM, email, telephone, coffee shop, living room, whatever you want. Let's talk.

P.S. Hot emo chicks who make a lot of money and/or get free food at IHOP get preferred treatment.

Interests:
GENERAL:

I like the things that makes one think, grow, and be entertained. When all of those can be done at the same time, all the better.
My hobbies are soccer, programming, writing, gaming, and debating philosophy, theology, and psychology.
I listen to a lot of music. Im almost always listening to it no matter what Im doing. Even when I sleep, I like to have some Project 86, Saul Williams, Grits, or something playing.
I used to play and referee soccer, but I dont have the time now. I still like to watch it when I can, though. I started coaching again last year. I also like to watch hockey and rugby and play ultimate frisbee, frisbee golf, street anything, dodge ball, and chinese freeze tag.
Risk is the greatest board game in the world with Monopoly and Chess following closely behind.
You can find me at The Cue every once in a while playing pool. I like night. So dont ask me to do anything during the day or I will say yes and hate it, unless it is indoors or picnicking. I hate baseball. I hate water. I hate sun. I hate negative assumptions. I like...
...you. Above all, in the immortal words of the great Mike Herrera, "Every day I go to school and study humans."

MUSIC:

Music is my lifeblood. Four or five hours without it and I'm so neurotic even Freud wouldn't know what to do with me. I need it like I need water, like I need air, like I need love. I like pretty much everything. Genre doesn't matter as long as the music is good. Of course, the country (the new stuff. The old rock/blues type stuff is cool), pop, and classical genres are filled with bad music. I like a lot of jazz, swing, rockabilly...Old people stuff. But my loves-the things that keep me alive-are metal-core, rap, and the blues.
My favorite bands, groups, and artists (this list is ever changing/growing):
All Star United
Bleach [R.I.P]
Common
Crash Rickshaw
Dead Poetic
Death From Above 1979 [R.I.P]
Demon Hunter
Ella Fitzgerald
Everclear
Every Day Life
Five Iron Frenzy [R.I.P]

Guardian [R.I.P]

Jack Johnson
Jonny Lang
Jonny Q. Public
Joy Electric
Kanye West
Kittie
KRS-One

MxPx (ignore that last album)
My Chemical Romance
Norma Jean (Redeemer freaking rocks)
Plankeye
Project 86
Saul Williams

MOVIES:

I dont like many new (last few years) movies. Most of my favorites are 80s and early to mid 90s stuff. I like humor, suspense, and anything that reminds me of me. So mysteries, horror flicks, comedies, and some dramas will do. Music oriented movies are good, too.

Above everything, I like movies centered around or stressing some sort of philosophy/philosophies and especially ones that play with the mind or have strong psychology influences. Anything that makes one think is good.

As they generally employ none of the above, chick flicks are far from the top of my list. Every once in a while, there is a good one, but for the most part, I shun them.
My favorite movies would have to be:
Airplane
American History X
Better Off Dead (best movie of all time)
Butterfly Effect
Crash Crossroads (Ralph Macchio 1986. Not Britney Spears 2002)
Dogma
Dumb and Dumber
Empire Records
I Am Sam
Lost Boys
Monty Python (take your pick)
Office Space
The Breakfast Club
The Notebook
Thirteen...

Books:
The Little Prince is the greatest book ever written. Read it and ponder.
