slvrmch1's Scoop
About me:
Who I'd like to meet:
You scored as Buddhism. Your beliefs most closely resemble those of Buddhism. Do more research on Buddhism and possibly consider becoming Buddhist, if you are not already.
In Buddhism, there are Four Noble Truths: (1) Life is suffering. (2) All suffering is caused by ignorance of the nature of reality and the craving, attachment, and grasping that result from such ignorance. (3) Suffering can be ended by overcoming ignorance and attachment. (4) The path to the suppression of suffering is the Noble Eightfold Path, which consists of right views, right intention, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right-mindedness, and right contemplation. These eight are usually divided into three categories that base the Buddhist faith: morality, wisdom, and samadhi, or concentration. In Buddhism, there is no hierarchy, nor caste system; the Buddha taught that one's spiritual worth is not based on birth.

Interests:
I love to think... I believe that just doing so is difficult to do in our society. Family and friends are the most important things to me in life. I try to be myself at all times... I try not to stereotype... I try to always have an open mind... I try to notice the beauty of our world everyday... I try so much, but I'm only human. Most of all I try to make a good example for others to follow. I believe that if people acted more civil towards eachother the world would be a better place for everybody. I think that all the bias and prejudice we not only face but propagate as well, severely cripples us as a whole.
It's sad and it hurts me just thinking about it...
On a lighter note I love hangin out with my little man, Connor... I love workin on cars, especially my 'Stang... I like to play guitar, but don't practice nearly as much as I should... and I love-a dee video games, I have for most of my life, sometimes they make me pretty unproductive but gimme a break, they're more addicting than freebasing heroin...
I'm probably one of the most sarcastic people you'll ever meet... My best friends call me JT... I let people know how much I care about them by giving them a hard time (I've almost driven my wife crazy)... I can't stand when people don't get along... I like everyone to be included... and OMG do I LOOOVE cheese! Mi Gusta Queso! J'adore le Fromage!

Music:
Pink Floyd has greatly shaped my entire view on the world... well I guess just music in general, but I have to single Floyd out as my favorite. I enjoy all kinds of music. Rock is my mainstay... if I'm on autopilot and have a need for background... then that's where I go. Queensryche is another of my favorites and I have great respect for Zepplin. I'll listen to anything once and I'll usually like it if it has obvious thought put into it. All in all I like music that makes you think.

Movies:
I love movies... all different kinds. I probably watch more comedy than anything. Any of the movies like Anchorman, Zoolander, Starsky & Hutch, Wedding Crashers, Old School with Vince Vaughn or Will Ferrall is definately on my list. But I also love anything that Bruckheimer produces like Pirates, ConAir, The Rock, National Treasure. I also like some more obscure movies, the ones that make you THINK (*gasp, there's that word again) like Way of the Gun, Fight Club, Boondock Saints... of course I guess with movies the aim should be more towards a heavy emotional response than really thinking... but hey it's all gold.
Books:
Starting with DaVinci Code, I went on a reading frenzy (since I worked at Intel and had a lot of time on my hands...*sheesh 12 hour nightshift) I've decided that I pretty much like everything that Crichton writes (check out Prey, it'll blow your mind) and an author named Rollins, he writes stuff similar to DaVinci Code, the historical-action-mystery genre I haven't read much non-fiction though, which I want to start doing...
